Welcome to Ask a C. elegans Expert!
Ask a C. elegans Expert was a collective cranium of scientists providing
answers to questions about the ICE space mission, C. elegans, and space
travel. We invite you to experience the excitement of sending experiments into
space.
The First International Caenorhabditis (pronounced SEE-NO-RAB-DIT-IS) elegans
Experiment (commonly referred to as ICE) consisted of several experiments that
investigated the effects of spaceflight on C. elegans and developed links
to human physiology (The branch of the biological sciences dealing with the functioning
of organisms and the study of internal processes and functions in humans) in
space. Click to read the ICE Worms
Space Diary.
